About Us
Who We Are
At Logos Classical Academy, our mission is to provide a classical education with a Biblical worldview that equips students to live wisely with virtue and knowledge.
In addition to preparing students for a lifetime of learning, we desire to equip them to honor Christ in every aspect of their lives. A complete education must take into account the whole person — heart, soul, mind and strength. As a result, we seek to engage the hearts of our students, with the hope that they will treasure Jesus Christ as their Redeemer and Lord, and find their greatest delight in him. We strive for academic excellence to help students love God with all their minds and to form a biblical worldview that will serve as a lens through which they can interpret the messages that assail them in our information age. Furthermore, we instruct students in a variety of virtues, with a special focus on reverence, humility, self-control, fortitude, and justice. In these ways, with the help of the Holy Spirit, students will be equipped with wisdom — skill for living in God’s world. Logos Classical Academy draws its name from the Greek word "logos" which means "Word." John 1:1 states , "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." We can't think of a better name to capture where we seek to begin our instruction: studying the word of God and The Word who is Jesus Christ.

FAQs
What ages/grades do you serve?
We currently serve students in kindergarten through 12th grade. At Logos, children are grouped in learning pods according to developmental stages. In addition to our Kindergarten program we have the following learning pods: Lower Grammar (1st-2nd, 2nd-3rd), Upper Grammar (4th-5th, 5th-6th), and Logic (Middle School 7th-8th), and Rhetoric (9th-12th).
Are uniforms required ?
We require uniforms for all students. Uniforms create a sense of community and recognition that we are all working toward the same goal. Much like community entities are easily identified by their uniform, students at Logos will be easily identified by their uniform as a group striving to reach a common goal.
What about extracurricular activities or arts?
Included in our Humanities coursework is a study of music and arts appreciation. Our shortened school days provide opportunity for students to pursue their specialized interests through private lessons. We also encourage parents to enroll students in community sports programs to allow the children an opportunity to carry their faith into the community with them. We encourage parents to help sponsor additional extracurricular activities for the students to allow our teachers to focus on instruction. Clubs such as Odyssey of the Mind, Chess Club, or drama are examples of activities that require parent support.
What course of study do you follow?
In keeping with the classical model of education, the curriculum of Logos focuses on instruction in knowledge, wisdom and virtue. Course work is design to be a series of interrelated subjects where students will make connections between disciplines. As students progress from one stage of learning to the next, they will engage differently with the curriculum.
The Language Arts curriculum is designed to enable students to become proficient in reading, writing, and grammar. By third grade students will also begin Latin studies. The Humanities courses train students in making connections between literature and history to include the history of the Israelites and the early church. Math students will master math facts and computational skills as a foundation for success in traditional subjects of algebra, geometry and higher levels of math.
Sciences are presented to awaken children's wonder and awe through personal investigation and acquisition of scientific knowledge.
Do you give a sibling discount?
We are a non-profit organization with the goal of providing the most excellent education to our students at the lowest possible cost. At this time it is not feasible to offer a sibling discount.
Do you serve special needs children?
Logos teachers are not certified to meet the needs of students with serious learning disabilities but are equipped to serve students with common learning differences. For specific questions, please contact us to see if Logos will be a good fit for your student.
Are you affiliated with a certain denomimation?
We are not affiliated with a certain denomination. All Logos teachers and staff members seek to live a life in accordance with the Word of God. Their purposeful attention to the scriptures is critical to model a life of virtue and discipline. All staff members affirm the Logos Classical Academy statement of faith. Families and students from a variety of faith backgrounds and churches are welcome at Logos.
What does a typical day look like?
A typical school day begins at 8:30am and ends at 2:15pm (the early release time allows for students to engage in community sports, clubs, or specialized art/music lessons). Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday include instruction in Bible, math, and language arts, with a rotation of science/humanities and Latin/Art/Music. On Wednesdays, we begin with Chapel and then have special special topics/electives and service projects. Here is a sample daily schedule.
